Lemon is the traditional citrus choice in this classic cocktail, however during the holidays I transform this into a special cocktail with the addition of grapefruit juice.

Ingredients
- sugar (as needed)
- 2 ounce cognac
- 1 teaspoon orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Curaçao)
- 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 citrus twist (as garnish)
Directions
Prepare a glass by moistening the rim and lining it in sugar. Combine cognac, orange liqueur, grapefruit juice and bitters in a cocktail shaker 2/3 filled with medium ice cubes. Shake and strain into the prepared cocktail glass. Garnish with a citrus twist.
