
The 1940s and 1950s saw Americans of all stripes intensely interested in any thing atomic. You would be to if you thought the end of the world was nigh. Hence the Atomic Cocktail.
Atomic Cocktail

Ingredients
- 1 ½ ounce vodka
- 1 ½ ounce brandy
- 1 teaspoon sherry (Amontillado or Oloroso)
- ½ ounce Champagne (or other sparkling wine)
- lemon wedge (as garnish)
Directions
Combine the vodka, brandy and sherry in a mixing glass half-filled with cracked ice. Gently stir until chilled and properly diluted, about 20 seconds. Julep strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Top with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon and enjoy.
