The three major wine producing regions located around Venice are known collectively as the Tre Venezie (the three Venices). They are Friuli-Venezie Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige, and the Veneto. This is an area of enormous diversity in topography and climate, collectively growing approximately 50 grape varieties. Some of the best known white wines from this region include tocai friulano, pinot grigio, pinot bianco, chardonnay, ribolla gialla, Soave, and prosecco.
