Mas du Goudareau Cotes du Rhone

While this wine is in the classic Cotes du Rhone style, its actually a new project. Mas du Goudareau is from Daniel and Helene Boulle, the owners of Domaine des Aphillanthes. The cellar is situated in Travaillan but the vines are planted on the garrigues (scruby hillsides) of Serignan next to Cairanne. With its fresh aromas of red berries and black fruit, this wine introduces itself with aplomb. The silky tannins work well with the nutty lentils. Allowing this medium bodied wine to finish with great finesse and really elevates this simple preparation of savory French toast with lentils from rustic to renaissance.

Since 1999, Helene and Daniel have devoted themselves to attaining the utmost purity in their wines. They have been practicing biodynamic viticulture and introduced the first bottling with the 2005 vintage. This blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and 10% Carignan. is a wonderful example of their dedication.
