Burgans Albarino Rias Baixas

Burgans Albarino Rias Baixas

This lightly golden-colored wine has loads of lemon zest, peach and flowers on the nose. On the palate, lemons, limes and kiwi give way to deeper notes of mango and papaya. This is a light to medium-bodied wine with a stony minerality that pairs nicely with the delicate flavor of the clams. With lush tropical fruits, however, this wine “feels” heavier than it is, and can certainly handle the spiciness of the red-pepper flakes and Abruzzese sausage.

From Spain’s Galicia province, Albarino is the only major Spanish wine referred to by the grape varietal, rather than its geographic region. Albarino taste is often described as a cross between a fine Riesling and Viognier. GRANT
