Tasting Wedell Cellars Pinot Noir at The Santa Clarita Wine Fest

You may be aware that my partner Ken has been taking a class at UCLA to learn more about wine. Today we have a video he did while tasting Wedell Cellars Pinot Noir. Take a peek and let him know what you think! GREG

Class may be over, but applying my newfound knowledge has just begun. I persuaded Greg to make the trek out to the Santa Clarita Wine Fest with me this past weekend. There were more than 60 wineries and breweries there showcasing their products. That’s a lot of wine to taste.

In order to stay focused at actually tasting the wine I decided to concentrate my efforts on just one winery, Wedell Cellars. I’d read about Maurice Wedell’s limited selection Central Coast Pinot Noirs made from really stressed out grapes. His north facing “Hillside” vines are situated on a north facing slope to mitigate the rather warm climate. Difficult access, complex irrigation, low yield, sounds ideal!

Judge for yourself if ‘I’m ready for my close up’. KEN
