Normally I reserve this space for events in and around Los Angeles that I feel would be of interest to my readers. I love LA, you love LA. You eat I eat... you get the idea.
But today I want to quickly give a little love to the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). It's the premier U.S. beer festival and competition and it's mega. Especially if you have an interest in craft brewing. This year the 3 day event is expected to serve 2,400 different beers. Which sounds like a lot of chugging. But fortunately these beers are served in one-ounce tasting portions. So the lucky attendees can stay cognizant of just how lucky they are– because this is a sold out event.
Hmmm... just why am I telling you all about an event that you probably can't even go to? Well, I wish I could say it was because I was going. I often get sent to these things by the organizers. It's one of the perks I enjoy for all the work I put into pecking out my thoughts on food and drink right here on this blog. But, nope I don't even get to go.
As I said the entire event sold out in just one week.
And though I am not among the chosen few I thought a shout out was in order to one of our local craft beer heros. The Eagle Rock Brewery will be there rightly representaing all things foamy from Los Angeles.
Which means even if you can't go, you can go in spirit. The Eagle Rock Brewery has a Tap Room adjacent to its facilities. Why not stop in and support the local team so to speak.

Events:
Food Trucks on Friday and Saturday (Usually from 7-10pm)
Trivia Night every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
Women's Beer Forum every third Wednesday.
Brewhouse Tours (free) Sundays at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00. (No reservations needed, just show up!)
Growler fills are available any time during taproom hours, but may be subject to a wait during busy hours.
