Peeps come to life for easterSomething has come over Sup! (watch Peeps for My Peeps video)

I think I have turned over a whole new leaf, “I feel happy and peppy and bursting with love”. Do you remember that toe-tapping tune from Felix Unger?

Of course you don’t you're too young!

Funny how quickly my mood sours.

Now I sorta regret having made this cute little ode to the spring. Why did I make it so “happy and peppy”?

I don't know.

I don’t really consider SippitySup a great vehicle for cute. Or sweet. Same goes for adorable, beautiful, charming, dainty, delightful, pleasant, or pretty.

I don’t know what came over me. This is so out of character.

Oh yeah, I remember it was that Jennifer over at Savor the Thyme. She MADE me do this for her Peeps Challenge. I am so impressionable or do I mean malleable? Pliant...?

Oh well have a "Happy Peppy" Spring (watch Peeps for My Peeps video)

Share Some Ocean Love

13 Feb 2009

I know you love seafood and the oceans that support magnificent marine animals. Now you can share your love for ocean life with others this Valentine's day.

As a thank you for our commitment to ocean-friendly seafood. Seafood Watch has created nine e-cards featuring ocean animals that are near and dear to our hearts at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

All ocean creatures are affected by destructive fishing practices, including seahorses, penguins and elephant seals. Your support helps preserve them.

This is an effort I support ideologically and financially. But these cards are free.

So show some love by sending an e-card to everyone you know and love. You'll help spread some Valentine cheer and help keep the tasty tidbits from the sea we so love viable and sustainable now and into the future.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ebisu-Nankin No Nimono. Does just the sound of it make you feel all warm and happy? No? Maybe you prefer a little Kansawanian Jibu-ni, fortified with duck breast? Or perhaps you are more of a holiday traditionalist and are perfectly happy with Soba?

Christmas is right around the corner. The worldwide demand for comfort foods is reaching its seasonal zenith. The foods and traditions of Christmas are like the ghosts of Christmas past, they are so familiar, so comforting, yet somehow tinged with just a bit of regret. Which makes me wonder, is there is room for a broader interpretation?

So, personally, I can’t wait to not put up my tree this year. My house is going look so beautiful and festive without any colored lights dripping from the eaves. That egg-nog can just stay on the dairy shelves at Vons. And who needs mistletoe as an excuse to kiss the one you love?
